An adventure to Greece
2020 is the year of thestaycationbecause of the pandemic. It’s great because people are rediscovering their own countries. However, I must admit I am longing for a holiday abroad. When I was younger, we would visit our Greek friends every Summer and wind downby the beach.
In fact, when I was 11 years old, I flew to Greece by myself! As I was so young, I had to have my passporthung aroundmy neck and a stewardess escortedme around after my mumdropped me offat the airport. This was all a bithumiliatingthough I was provided with a constantsupplyof orange juice on the flight.
However, when wetouched downI just followed everybody else – I had done the journeymultipletimes with my dad before, so I knew what I was doing. Iskippedthrough passport control and wasgreetedby my dad at the exit. As we werewhizzing alongthe motorway from Athens to Galaxidi my dad received a phone call from apanickyair hostess informing him that she’d lost me! They hadn’tclockedthat I had left with everybody else and nobody had told me I was supposed tosit tight.Luckily the rest of the holiday was much more relaxed!
